President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who just should be happy for winning re-election,must be a worried man.Not because the CPC took him to court.I do not see them a threat. But he must be wondering how to make tough decisions, without stepping on toes.
Just as he revealed,a lot of lobbyists have been fronting people for a position in his ministerial cabinet. The sad thing, however,is that only 10% of those people are doing it for national interest. This means,in simple arithmetic (even if Mathematics gives me headache),that 90% of them are out for material and selfish interests.
It's not like we don't know this already. Nigerian political godfathers only care about what they would gain.
Jonathan's worry must be enormous. The mob that constitute the 90% must be people who helped him during the election. Now,he has to be grateful, even if it goes against national interest.
In my opinion, this is the most significant decision he has to make.Do the right thing and refuse the money-conscious mob,and he has set a stage to being his own man and letting people know he is the main man.Do otherwise, and he has set the stage for non-performance.The choice would be entirely his to make.
But since we don't know who the 90% people are, how do we know when he makes the decision.Time,we believe, would tell.
Hmn,Nigeria!
