As we welcome another political dispensation, there are still fears amongst the people. Any sensible individual in Borno State, for example, knows that coming out to witness the inauguration of the sweet-named new governor Kassim Shettima is tantamount to suicide. With 'Boko Haram' seeking every chance in the world to tell how serious they are, bombs not exploding in the capital city would be considered a rarity. And innocent people, not the governor or other politicians, are always the casualties.
In Kwara State, as the ex-governor Bukola Saraki held his valedictory service, people were busy being stampeded. At the last count, 20
people have been confirmed dead by The Nation newspapers! 20 people who would no more witness Saraki hand over the baton, 20 peopld who would no more be seen, 20 people who would have done better being at home.
Therefore, if I were from Borno state, or living there, not even money, not even butterflies singing in my ears, would make me come out. Life is precious...even terrorists know that. Osama would have testified!
