Come Sunday,no quarter would be asked and none given, when two of English football's biggest teams trade tackles in the biggest pitch in English league,Old Trafford.
People have suggested that the English Premier League is the most difficult to win,if compared with Spanish La Liga,German Bundesliga,Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1.If they needed any proof, the entirety of this season could serve as one. From Chelsea blitzing their way through and hitting goals like it was so easy and even Ancelotti claiming the team were playing 'playstation football' to Manchester United recovering to take the driving seat in Chelsea's tough moment.Even Arsenal managed to compete, even if everyone knew it would earn no result.
Any team that ends up winning the league would do so by 'default'(a la Harry Redknapp). They wouldn't have to point at their consistency, because none of them ever had it.Rather they would realise they won due to the other team's inefficiency.
This season is set to have the winner with the least number of points tally,if compared with winners of the previous seasons. That shows how poor the season has been.
Is it as a result of small clubs getting better,or the title challengers getting worse?I think it's the latter.
Yet,at the end of the day, there is a title to win.Man United know a point might be enough for them but victory would be better because it pratically hands them the league, and Chelsea know victory for them is non-negotiable.It all makes for a fantastic game.We can't wait.
