Crisis In Egypt Intensifies

We all thought the ousting of the much-maligned Hosni Mubarak would make Egypt better. How wrong we were. Egypt is fast moving into a state of anarchy, with protests and deadline to the president Mohamed Morsi, by the military, causing fresh fears. This is praying things get better.

Governor Amaechi Reportedly Pays For OJB Treatment

If the stories are anything to go by, then ailing music producer has every reason to smile now. Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state has reportedly donated the sum needed for his treatment. I hope and pray this is true, considering the false stories peddled around on how some of OJB's colleagues gave him millions. I wish him all the best, and may God bless Governor Amaechi, if this story is true

Painful Remembrance

And again, 2nd July is here. It would always be here, and we would always remember it. It would always come and we would always have a sober reflection; we would remember that life is short; that life is borrowed; that everyday we live is a miracle; that we should be thankful; thankful to God. Franklin Agbarakwe, a brother and friend, would never be forgotten. He died a painful death, and we would always feel that pain each time 2nd July comes. He would be missed. But we his friends would live long for him, to always remember him. Continue to rest brother.

Obi Plans Retirement From Politics

Anambra State Governor Mr Peter Obi has stated he would leave active politics once his tenure expires next year. "A very prominent person called me today and asked me of my plan concerning politics after my current tenure. This is what I told him," he stated. "For me, I have come to the end of it; I want to quit and rest." He did not forget to praise himself though: "I have been praying to God that for the sake of the good people of Anambra State, please give them somebody like Peter Obi," he boasted. "The level of greed in Nigeria is overwhelming, where people cannot see the suffering of other people; they are just accumulating wealth. For me, it is time to go. I wonder why one person should own a house in Ikoyi, Asokoro, Dubai and he is not using them for anything. People accumulate what they do not need; it is madness. The level of greed in Nigeria is intolerable." No matter what anyone says, I love this man. He is considerate, prudent and strong. These are qualities needed in an ideal democracy, which Nigeria does not have. This makes him seem different from other Nigerian politician, if you ask me. "The cost of running a governor's office in Nigeria is too much," he confessed. "When I came in as a governor, I found out that the state had 70 workers in Abuja office; apart from their salaries, we spent close to N15m maintaining that office. They had nothing doing other than going to the airport and welcoming me." May Anambra, and indeed Abia, get a governor like Obi next time!! Obi is my hero all day!
