How could I have forgotten this, fellas? It was actually the funniest thing I ever saw...this week,I guess.
John Demjanjuk is 'just' 91-years old(or young,if you wish)but that didn't stop him from appearing in court for a crime he allegedly committed in March 1943.While a guard in a Nazi-concentrated camp in Sobibor, about 28,060 people, mainly Jews, were gassed to death with ''toxic mix of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide''.
The court in Munich sentenced him to five(!)years imprisonment, but told him to go home, pending on appeal which could take months. It looked funny when I saw it,not because it felt unreasonable but, because it was just funny.
Demjanjuk,at 91,should be closing up on the dreaded 'Mr Death' and was,and still is,in bad shape.
"His health has been questionable during the entire trial. He has spent much of it on a stretcher in court",said an observer, who also added "...as the judge read the verdict,he was in a wheel chair. He showed no apparent emotion."
And why would he?A man who has seen it all and worked under the great Hitler shouldn't be worried over mere court cases.Afterall, what would they do to an old dying man?No wonder the Ukrainian, who spoke(did he ever talk?)through an interpreter had only one word to say all day...''No!!''
A real Hitler.
