When former Russia boss, Guus Hiddink, takes over at Chelsea as expected, one man would be scratching his head. Sir Alex Ferguson knows he would have his work cut out. Guus Hiddink is never a flash in the pan.
Forget Arsenal and Arsene Wenger. Forget Manchester City, their noise, their money and Roberto Mancini. Forget Liverpool, their honeymoon period and Kenny Dalglish. Oh,don't mind Tottenham and Harry Redknapp. Chelsea remains United's main competitors.
With a big job to do, including overhauling an old and egocentric squad, only a man of experience like Hiddink would achieve that. Changing the mentality of English players who feel they own a squad is key. Captain John Terry has even started deciding whom he wants. Hiddink's response just shows what he would do to knock them to size (''is he the president of Chelsea?'').
If only he would wait a little longer, Fergie would love it.
