Some things are certain in football. Inter Milan must hate Juventus, Jose Mourinho must talk, Alex Ferguson must chew gums, Enyimba must be in Aba and Edwin Van Der Sar cannot be replaced. Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea would try to make the latter certainty uncertain. He has been signed to fill the huge boots of Van Der Sar.
Preferred among the likes of now Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer, Liverpool's Pepe Reina, Atletic Bilbao's Goker Irhaizoz, Ajax Armstadam's Stekelenberg, and Inter Milan's Julio Caesar, Sir Alex must have seen something in the 20 year old to make this decision. He hasn't forgotten how difficult it was replacing Peter Schmeichel before Van Der Sar. We hope he has made the right choice.
As for De Gea, he could only pray to impress rather than replace. After all, VDS is irreplaceable.
