Imo State governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha is well-loved by everyone (well, except one person) and his achievements speak volume. Even before becoming the governor, his philantropy had touched quite a lot. And I'm afraid this might be his undoing.
Imo people feel the promised land is here with them. Owelle has been a success, an epitome of perfection, a true description of effectiveness. And they believe he would bring it to bear as a governor. Everyone believes he would. Even me. However, I fear.
Nothing he does would be too much. After all, it is expected. For four years, he would be under immense pressure not to falter. He has announced free education and reduced the security vote from 6.5million to 2.5million naira, to accommodate the free education dream. He would have to continue from there, or discontent voices would be heard. In my opinion, he has the toughest job, of all the 36 governors.
We want him to succeed, and he would. But we have to reduce our expectations.
