Novak Djokovic would remain World No.2, and that is authoritative. Roger Federer dented his dreams of overtaking Rafael Nadal, who would have to give Federer one or two kisses.
This should be a disappointment, but not a disaster for Djokovic. He's mighty close to overtaking Nadal. Remember Germany needing Bayern Munich to beat Inter Milan last year in the champions' league final to ensure they overtook Italy in UEFA club ranking. They lost. But less than six months later, Germany overtook them. That should give Djokovic every confidence. He would still overtake Nadal. All he needs is to put up another strong run.
Federer had a very fantastic game. Rio Ferdinand of Manchester United tweeted,
"Federer is my favourite tennis player...Djokovic is a beast."
Britain's Andy Murray would have to remain in 4th place. I expect Nadal, however, to beat Federer. At least, his nemesis has been beaten.
