Wherever you go,Igbo people stand out.If not for their oneness, then it is their hardwork. If not for their brilliance, then their business acumen. If not for their wisdom, then their strength in adversity.Indeed, every Igbo man or woman is always proud to be one.But something worries me.
After the latest Senatorial election and results,it seems we're just not serious.First, the people, rightly tired of bad leadership, refused to come out and vote.To them, who cares?Afterall, they would still return. But how wouldn't they,if we do not come and vote them out?Anyone who refuses to vote has no moral standing to criticize any bad leader. You never put him there, and you couldn't push him out when you had the chance to.
Check the Northerners.Leaders know they have to perform or the people throw them out.Check the South-Westerners.ACN has helped throw out bad leaders. How did it happen? No magic. The people voted. But in the South-East,anything goes.No wonder some very addled leaders won again.
There is still time.We have to join hands together and give the governors a scare during their elections. That way,we satisy our conscience...
