It all looks forgotten, isn't it?It now seems years since Sir Alex Ferguson 'emotionally' revealed his priceless asset,Wayne Rooney, wanted to leave Old Trafford.Scandals off the pitch coincided with,(or led to)poor form on it.Rooney was in shambles.Everyone wrote him off.A return of a paltry two-penalty goals further made things worse.
By the time he signed a new contract,he looked a little better than Yakubu Aiyegbeni, missing scorable chances, and being outshone by the trio of Javier 'Chicharito Hernandez,Nani and even the 'lazy' Dimitar Berbatov.
But just like he always does,he was back with a bang. With scores level at Old Trafford, against the 'noisy neighbours' Manchester City,Rooney had his own plans.A cross from Nani seemed harmless, with Rooney far ahead.Out stuck a leg,and a powerful bicycle kick put the ball straight in the net.Accomplished strikers like Van-Nistelrooy,Raul,Ronaldo de Lima and Klose would be green in envy.Rooney was back.Even he couldn't have wished for any better.
It has been goals galore ever since...and at a pivotal time of the season.Even a two-match ban for 'swearing in front of the camera',something every footballer does with such relish, cannot stop him.Wayne's world rocks.Opponents beware!
