Why Doesn't Aregbesola Have Commissioners Yet?

Since he took over from Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola seven months, Rauf Aregbesola has performed creditably. Knowing much was expected from him anyway, the 54-year old has not disappointed. Indeed, he has managed to prove that association with the best kind of people could also rub off on you. He has close ties with Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Government. In fact, he has been a commissioner in Lagos State before, under Tinubu.
No matter how good you are, however, you must be criticised. The opposition have said series of things, including him travelling all the time. Well, if travelling all the time is the secret to his performance, then he should travel more. They say the state is still in shambles and he has done nothing. If anything, that is even a clear indictment on Oyinlola's administration, rather than Rauf. They say he doesn't practice true democracy. Well, even the best has been accused of more. That's mere sour grape.
I have no answer, however, to the criticism on why he has no commissioners yet...since he took over. Well, that seems to be his only wrong, one that is obvious. But why doesn't he have any yet? A man of his wisdom surely has reasons for that. PDP thinks he doesn't trust his men. They think he's looking to appoint about 80 per cent Lagosians. Whatever, let him get his commissioners - unless he doesn't want to.
As long as the Permanent Secretaries are performing creditably, who needs commissioners?
