Final Goodbye To A Brother And Friend

Frank, we never planned it this way. We always had fun anytime you were around. Everything I did in ABSU revolved around you. Wherever I go, whatever I do, whenever I think, whoever I see, however I act, you always come to my mind. If only things never happened the way they did. If only you were here for us. If only I saw you one last time, to ask you for forgiveness if I ever offended you, to give you reasons to live, to remind you what you told your friends about marriage, about kids, about everything. It still rings in my ear everytime, "Udensi, nwa oga Udensi, hope you would be around when I enter Aba. Would you be in Awka?...ah,don't mind that boy,he's a small boy..." What do you want me to say, and what do you want me not to? If only it never happened, if only that car didn't crash, if only...I could just go on and on.
One thing is sure, however. All my life, I will never forget the times we shared together.I will never forget your jokes, your laughter, your anger, your smiles, your love for water, your penchant for feeling cold (smile), and your love for things we love.
Frank,I would NEVER forget you in life. Thanks for making impact in my life. I may not have said it before, but now I will. I love you. Adieu my brother.

R.I.P Franklin Agbarakwe

A musician once said some friends are much more important than brothers. I never knew the meaning of this. Now, I know.
Frank and I had come a long way. From our days in ABSU, we were like brothers. With Ethel and Chimezie, I had people I could call family. They helped me change certain aspects of my life people might have frowned at. We always looked to the future. We always dreamt of being successful, happily married with kids, and living life like brothers we were. Everything changed on saturday, 2nd July.
Frank left us, just 12 days to his birthday.
I cannot contain my grief. Ethel can't contain his. Chimezie can't contain his. Frank's family and friends can't contain theirs. The shock can never be explained.
If only we saw him one last time, to tell him how much we love him, to beg him not to leave us.
Never in our lives would we forget you, Frank. We love you. Rest In Peace my brother and friend. We miss you.
Oh God, why me?

Goodbye,Obinna Okpokiri

Governor T.A Orji of Abia State and his wife, deputy governor Chief Acho Nwakamma and former senate president Adolphus Wagbara were all present as the slain youth corp member,Obinna Okpokiri was laid to rest.He was honoured in death, but that was never enough.Nothing would make up for his loss, for his friends and family.
In my anger,I would have cursed the day NYSC was invented.I would have cursed who brought it out.But no,I do not blame any programme and people who set out to bring about cultural integration and unity. That,at least,is NYSC's overt idea.
I would blame a set of hoodlums,never-do-wells,idiots who do not value human life.I would blame whoever the animals were fighting for,who failed to stop his brainless imps from causing havoc.I would blame illiteracy.I would blame joblessness.I would blame disregard for human life.Every word I use against those touts clearly elevates, than degrade them.
I urge the family of Obinna Okpokiri to take heart. It's so easy to say, when not affected. But I'm affected. He passed through my beloved Government College Umuahia(GCU),and was meant to be a living legend. He still is,in death.Every GCU old boy is.He also passed through Abia State University, where I studied.I may not have known him much, but I feel much more downcast than before.
Rest In Peace Obinna Okpokiri.Heaven awaits you.God would fish out your killers, and they would pay for it.I'm sure they would.

What does a young man want?

When a man is in his twenties, they say,the journey of life starts. It was just like yesterday that people my age left primary school. All of a sudden,my age mates are thinking of marriage. It is just so sudden.
What time would i have to find the wife of my dream? What time do i have to actualize my dream of being a professional goalkeeper(that's the least of my worries.I could easily reduce my age)? What time do i have to taste the varieties of life? The simple truth is that there is no time. But then, that is life. Before we know it,we would clock 40!
The issue is,how do we shape our lives? How do we start making ourselves future role models? Some do so by becoming armed robbers.Others do so by indulging in various vices that are unmentionable.Yet others, like me(lol)

,tow the responsible path.
Hey,that could be life, and we're free to do whatever we want. However, what we do today shapes our tomorrow. There is a saying, 'The way we live on earth determines the way we leave it'
