Ex-governor and 'ikiri' of Imo State Ikedi Ohakim is missing. Nobody knows where he's gone to. While people were busy talking about Otunba Gbenga Daniel's escape (or travel) abroad, Ohakim allegedly sneaked out of the country, probably to escape EFCC's long knife. So assured was whoever started the rumour, that s/he swore that he was seen at the airport.
But his commissioner for Information said Ohakim was still in the country with us
"...the man lost the election, and he took it in good faith. He has handed over. Why don't they leave him in peace?" he asked rhetorically.
We're sorry to disappoint you, Sir. Nobody would leave him in peace. He just left office and, as alleged, he has lots of questions to answer.
But then, the campaign against this man is getting too much. If only they would give him a few days off, to rest.
But this is a lesson. There is no crime in doing good. Arrogance, in now way, is a recipe for respect. As we have seen, the result could be bruising.
