Hello my fellow Nigerians,
Finally,we have seen what we may call relatively free and fair elections...relatively,because we cannot claim they were the best kind of elections. But,by Nigerian standard, they were.We have seen the emergence of a president the whole country always wanted,or needed. But,that is not the end of the successful fight for true democracy.
For one,we have witnessed very unnecessary fights and killings.Election is not a do-or-die thing. He who loses lives to fight another day.Killing innocent citizens cannot guarantee us the power we so much crave. That, the massive killing, was a huge mistake and a huge dent on our cravings for true democracy. But then,we have a chance to redeem ourselves.
The gubernatorial elections would hold in a little less than 48 hours. There is no better chance to right our wrongs than now.Let us vote the leader of our dreams this time. And when the results are announced, let us be gracious in defeat when the people we support lose. And let us not fight. That way,we would have gone a long way in exorcising the ghost of the post-presidential election crisis...even if not completely.
Let us make our votes our right. That way, whoever we vote who fails to do well, would be criticized with reason.Nigeria would be great.
